A future where every child and young person feels safe, understood and connected, with the relationships, opportunities and confidence they need to thrive.
We want children in care, care leavers and young people facing disadvantage to experience support that sees beyond labels, responds to the whole person and creates lasting routes into wellbeing, education, employment, independence and belonging.

Six shared outcomes
Across every Foundations service, we work towards the same six outcomes.
What we stand for
Safety before change+
Young people engage when they feel physically, emotionally, culturally and relationally safe. We provide predictable support, clear boundaries and compassionate responses to risk.
Relationships always+
A reliable relationship can change the direction of a young person’s life. We prioritise consistency, trust and genuine human connection throughout every intervention.
See the story, not the label+
Behaviour communicates experience and unmet need. We look beyond terms such as “difficult”, “NEET”, “offender” or “placement breakdown” to understand what has happened, what matters and what will help.
Voice into action+
Young people should influence the decisions affecting their lives. We close the loop by showing what changed because they spoke: you said, we considered, we acted, you reviewed.
Strengths and possibility+
We recognise ability, culture, identity, interests and potential, helping young people build a positive sense of themselves and goals that feel meaningful and achievable.
The whole system shares responsibility+
Families, schools, social care, health, housing, employers and communities work together, instead of expecting the young person to manage disconnected systems.
Support that builds independence+
We combine emotional support with practical skills and real opportunities — increasing confidence, choice and sustainable independence, without withdrawing support before a young person is ready.
Inclusion and identity+
We respect every young person’s culture, faith, heritage, gender, sexuality, communication style and neurodiversity, adapting our practice so difference never becomes a barrier.
Lived experience with professional accountability+
Our work is informed by people who understand care, exclusion and adversity personally — combined with safeguarding, reflective supervision, evidence and professional standards.
Evidence with humanity+
We measure progress without reducing young people to statistics, combining outcome data with the young person’s voice, professional observation and change from their individual baseline.
From lived experience to measurable change
We will not define a young person by their most difficult experience.
We will listen carefully, act transparently and work alongside the people and systems around them. We will maintain hope while remaining honest about risk, responsibility and the work required to create lasting change.
